Energy Fair at Wilmington’s Public Safety Building
June 3, 2023 @ 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Saturday, June 3rd, the Town of Wilmington is planning to hold a free Energy Fair with an additional emphasis on Emergency Preparedness. The fair will be held at the new energy-efficient Public Safety Facilities and include an Open House of the new Fire Station and Police Department, with limited access. The town will be launching a new Emergency Preparedness webpage at the fair, and emergency resources and personnel will be on hand for any questions you may have. Bring the kids to check out the fire trucks, police cruisers, ambulances, and other vehicles on display at this event.
The Energy Fair is a free outreach event designed to distribute information on resources, grants, rebates, and programs on everything from saving energy dollars to demonstrations of electric vehicles. The Jacksonville Blues Band will perform while the Volunteer Firefighters grill free hotdogs at noon. Families with children are welcome, and a parachute activity, face painting, and a bouncy house are all planned. Beaver Brook School will have free arts and crafts activity tables for creative fun. Don’t miss trying out the Wilmington Recreation Department’s bike that makes fruit smoothies using people-power.
Efficiency Vermont, Green Mountain Power, Vermont Emergency Management, Windham & Windsor Housing Trust, Heat Squad, VECAN, SEVCA and others will be in the firehouse with information and staff on hand to answer all your building, remodeling, or weatherization questions as they relate to saving those energy dollars. Now is a great time to find out about the many opportunities to save money on heating, cooling, and even commuting. The MOOver will have its new MicroMOO van and information on public transit. Senior Solutions and Voices of Hope will have information on connecting with local resources.
For more information, email jroberts@wilmingtonvt.us or call Town Hall at 802-464-8591. This Energy Fair is sponsored by an anticipated Municipal Energy Resilience, Community Capacity Building Mini-Grant from Vermont’s Department of Buildings and General Services. The free Energy Fair starts at noon, and ends at 3 pm, on June 3rd (rain date, June 17th).
