The Town of Whitingham, VT, founded in 1770, sits high in the Green Mountains of southern Vermont, on the Massachusetts border. It’s a 3-hour drive from Boston and a 4-hour drive from New York City. With elevations ranging from 1,500 to over 2,000 feet, Whitingham is perfect for winter sports. You can enjoy cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, and more. In the summer, the cool mountain air is great for biking, hiking, sailing, boating, and other water activities.
A few miles north, you’ll find the Deerfield Valley and Mount Snow Resort. The resort is known for one of the top snowmaking operations in the U.S. The Harriman Reservoir in Whitingham is an 8-mile lake. It’s ideal for boating, fishing, and swimming, with beautiful views of the Green Mountains rising from the water. Whitewater rafting and tubing on the Deerfield River offer both thrills and tranquility. Whitingham’s mix of farmland and forests makes for a stunning landscape.
