Antonio Hart Quartet at The Vermont Jazz Center

Saxophonist Antonio Hart has recorded with Jimmy Heath, Nat Adderley, Dizzy Gillespie, McCoy Tyner and over 80 other jazz artists.  Hart is clearly one of the chosen bearers of the bebop torch and he upholds this position with dignity and distinction.  Currently on the faculty of Queens College where Howard Brofsky serves as Professor Emeritus, Hart impressed the VJC audience as a saxophonist in Brofsky’s ’08 quintet.  For this concert Hart brings his own quartet to Brattleboro to demonstrate how his branch of the bebop tree has evolved into its own unique form of expression.  Hart’s presence in this series demonstrates the VJC’s connection to jazz’s profound heritage.
